#JusticeforUWA: Her father did not report rape to the police, it was only Assault Occassioning Harm - Edo Police spokesperson.

Earlier today, trending story of a 100-level Microbiology student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Uwaila Omozuwa, who was allegedly raped and severely beaten up inside The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, where she had gone to read on Wednesday, May 27, was on circulation. A family source who shared the story online, said Uwaila died on Saturday midnight at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where she was rushed to after the attack. He said she was attacked with a fire extinguisher by some unknown persons. Concerned persons reached out to the state police command spokesperson, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident but said the police only received a report of ''Assault Occasioning Harm'' and not rape as is being reported online. A 100-level Microbiology student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Uwaila Omozuwa has been confirmed dead after being raped and beaten inside her local church. The 22-year-old student who goes to read everyday at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, was attacked with a fire extinguisher by unknown men on Wednesday, May 27.  A family source said Uwaila died on Saturday midnight at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where she was rushed to after the attack.  He said; “The church’s security officer had gone to collect the keys to the church from its keeper when he was told that there was someone in the church already. French champions, Paris St-Germain have confirmed the signing of striker Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan following his successful loan spell. The Argentina international, 27, signed a four-year deal with PSG which runs until June 30, 2024, after the French club agreed to pay a fee of €50m (£45m) with €7m (£6.2m) in add-ons for Icardi, who first joined them on loan from Inter on September 2.
